abstract = "This work compares the prevalence of schistosomiasis and presence
of Biomphalaria glabrata from the State of Minas Gerais with the
vegetation, soil and shade fraction images, obtained through the
application of the linear spectral mixture model in the MODIS data
acquired in January and July 2002. The results showed that there
is a positive correlation between prevalence and vegetation
fraction image (July 2002), a negative correlation between
prevalence and soil fraction image (July 2002), and a positive
correlation between B. glabrata and shade fraction image (July
2002).",
